Rules for using the refrigerator when it is turned off...

Rules for using the refrigerator during a power outage.

1. Do not open the refrigerator door unnecessarily

During a power outage, it is important to keep the refrigerator cold as long as possible. Every time the door is opened, the cold is lost.

2. Maintain tightness

Check that the refrigerator and freezer doors are closed tightly. This will help keep the device cool.

3. Use ice blocks

If you know the power outage will last a long time, place ice blocks or frozen gel packs in the refrigerator and freezer to help keep temperatures down.

4. Control the temperature

After power is restored, check the temperature inside the refrigerator and freezer. If the temperature rises above a safe level (+4°C for the refrigerator and -18°C for the freezer), some products may become unfit for consumption.

5. Evaluate the condition of the products

Products that show signs of spoilage (unpleasant smell, changed color or texture) should be thrown away. Pay special attention to meat, fish, dairy products and ready meals.

6. Follow the safety rules

In the event of a long power outage (more than 4 hours for the refrigerator and more than 24 hours for the freezer), throw away perishable foods or foods that have been in contact with high temperatures.

7. Check the technical condition

After the power is restored, make sure the refrigerator is working properly. In case of problems, contact a specialist.

Following these simple rules will help keep products fresh and safe to eat even during a power outage.
